TRADITIONAL INDIAN GAMES

India has a treasure trove of folk art traditions that are so distinct from each other but yet so beautiful. The form, colours, line, all have a tale to tell about the region they come from, it’s people, their beliefs and traditions. It is because of this folk tradition that these games have been able to survive over time without any formal documentation.

Games taken up in this series have a folk dimension (a tradition of passing on from one generation to another according to regional popularity). The form and styles of different folk styles have been studied carefully to suit a particular style with a particular game. These are mostly hand-drawn.
