A Goa Green Map Story
The Goa Green Map story is a self initiative to keep Goa clean, green and beautiful. Green in terms of activities related to sustainability, clean in order to encourage proper waste management and beautiful in terms of its rich and glorious heritage. The idea is to share interesting stories on the preservation of Goa instead of selling it as done through state-tourist activities only.
A hand-drawn map of Goa aims to feature the products, ideas or innovations that people in Goa have taken to help be more sustainable. The map would also feature very unique aspects of the state like the kind of flowers that bloom in various parts of Goa, Goa’s cleanest beaches, a cycling route, organic farming sites, farmer’s markets etc. It would include all the three aspects of Goabeautiful i.e. clean through marking the cleanest, green by pointing out composting sites etc. and beautiful by highlighting its grand architecture and its diverse flora and fauna.
The research, illustrations and creative documentation for the initiative were done by design student, Ankita Mukherji at Fisheye Design studio – Guide & Sponsor – Anjila Puri.
