If I were Rain
The book ‘If I were rain’ examines India’s urban reality in the context of basic child rights and the experiences of children living in disadvantage. It is a book about children, by children – designed as a visual and testimonial tribute to the spirit of India’s Children. Working closely with Youthreach and Prabbudha Dasgupta, the book was complied and designed over a period of a year with the task of editing innumerable photographs, voices, poetry, art and in-depth stories of these children who talk about their challenges and their hopes for the future. The book was conceived in black and white, except for the artworks and one story. The typography and layout were kept minimal.
Fisheye also designed the identity of the photo exhibition – Nobody’s Children’ – using strong typography to compliment the iconic photo. Invites, posters and hoarding of the exhibition were designed and applied across various print material. The book ‘ If I were rain’ designed by Fisheye was launched at the photo exhibition.
